Bottega Veneta’s Knot Eau Absolue needs no introduction… Understated yet instantly recognisable, the Knot is one of Bottega Veneta’s most emblematic pieces!
A rounded box shape with an elegant knotted metal clasp, this minaudière has graced a spectrum of variations across collections and seasons.
In 2014, Bottega Veneta wrote a new chapter of the Knot story with the introduction of a new fragrance. Named after the iconic clutch, Knot eau de parfum pays tribute to both the bag’s signature shape and the endless possibilities of the juice inside. Artisanally finished by hand from the highest quality materials, the golden flacon is topped with a knot closure representing the perfect marriage of understated luxury and fragrance in the world of Bottega Veneta.
“One of my favorite things to design each season is the Knot. It’s crazy, really, that this simple little box shape, so defined in space and functionality, lends itself to endless creative possibilities. I have compared it to a blank canvas because I really do believe there are infinite variations possible. And it is the fact of being limited that makes one so creative”, said Tomas Maier, Creative Director, Bottega Veneta.
AN EXPRESSION OF SOPHISTICATION
Four years after the debut of Knot eau de parfum, Bottega Veneta introduces Knot Eau Absolue. The new composition enhances the elegance of the original fragrance with an infusion of notes that add richness and opulence.
The floral oriental fragrance opens with the familiar essences of lavender and orange blossom. A delicate and complex sweetness of jasmine at the heart begins to differentiate Knot Eau Absolue from the original juice. The scent continues to intensify, culminating at the base veil of precious myrrh. The final structure brings a new angle to the Bottega Veneta olfactive offerings, one with sophistication and sensuality, that echoes the endless possibilities of the luxury brand.
Knot Eau Absolue continues the longstanding collaboration of Creative Director Tomas Maier with master perfumer Daniela Andrier. In accordance with Bottega Veneta’s abiding dedication to quality and craftsmanship, it was crucial to source only the finest raw materials for the creation of the juice.

“The knot is very much a symbol of Bottega Veneta, a link to the company’s history and to its future. New bags in the Knot family, such as the Olimpia Knot and the City Knot, were conceived as an evolution from the evening minaudière to bags that work for both day and evening. Using this iconic hardware as a closure for Knot eau de parfum and Knot Eau Absolue is another chapter in our story.”

Inspired by Venetian glasswork and the traditional Italian carafe, the Knot flacon combines rounded curves and clean lines that reflect the design of the Knot minaudière. The hand-finished cap and oro matte clasp are instantly recognizable to the Bottega Veneta connoisseur. To mirror the warmer, more opulent evolution of the juice, the Knot Eau Absolue flacon is recast in a dark golden hue. With a deeper sense of refinement and sensuality, the bottle intensifies the fragrance in appearance, imbuing it with a precious quality.
