Ajmal Perfumes: Behind The Bottle

An exclusive look inside Ajmal Perfumes' Fragrance Factory

The story of fragrance is often told through the finished bottle. At Ajmal, however, it begins much earlier, deep within the heart of oud, craftsmanship, and a legacy that has shaped the region’s perfume culture for over seven decades.

As part of this special media tour, guests were invited on a rare and immersive journey into the world of Ajmal, beginning at the brand’s historic oud factory. Guided by Abdur Rahim Ajmal, Vice President of the Agarwood Department, visitors stepped into a space filled with the rich, resinous aroma of agarwood.

More than a factory visit, the experience offered an in-depth exploration of one of perfumery’s most treasured ingredients. From discovering the nuances of different oud varieties to witnessing the meticulous extraction of precious fragrant oils, guests experienced firsthand the artistry, patience, and expertise that form the foundation of every exceptional scent.

The journey then moved from the world of tradition into a space of innovation, as guests were welcomed into Ajmal’s advanced manufacturing facility in Dubai. Spanning more than 150,000 square feet, the expansive hub showcases the seamless fusion of craftsmanship, technology, and precision that powers the creation of millions of fragrances enjoyed across the region and beyond.

The tour offered an immersive glimpse into the scale and sophistication of Ajmal’s operations. From sourcing and formulation to blending, bottling, and packaging, media guests witnessed the entire fragrance-making journey unfold seamlessly under one roof. With a production capacity of up to 100,000 bottles daily, the facility reflects the precision, expertise, and commitment to quality that drive the brand’s global expansion.

One of the highlights of the day was an interactive perfumery masterclass led by Amandine Nikuze, Vice President of Fragrance Design, who offered a rare insider’s perspective into the delicate art of balancing notes.

The experience concluded with an intimate conversation with Abdulla Ajmal, CEO of Ajmal Group. Sharing insights into the company’s evolution and vision, he spoke about the responsibility of preserving a rich family legacy while shaping the future of perfumery in the region and beyond.

From the timeless traditions of oud craftsmanship to the forefront of fragrance innovation, the day offered more than a behind-the-scenes look at a perfume house. It revealed the soul of Ajmal, a brand where heritage is preserved, creativity is celebrated, and every fragrance tells a story that transcends generations.

In an era increasingly driven by speed and immediacy, Ajmal remains devoted to the art of taking time, transforming nature, memory, and emotion into scents that linger long after the moment has passed.
