Ben Gorham’s Stockholm-based fragrance house, Byredo has announced its partnership with eyewear brand Oliver Peoples to launch a series of sunglasses and perfume combo exclusively for the summers!
Taking the concept of joint perception of senses to the next level, renowned fragrance maker Byredo will be partnering with eyewear manufacturer Oliver Peoples to introduce limited edition sunglass and fragrance combos that effortlessly complement one another.
Inspiration for the alignment between Oliver Peoples and Byredo originates from the phenomenon ‘synesthesia,’ which is the joint perception of senses, whereby the stimulation of one sense can involuntarily produce an association with an entirely different one.
The Origin Of The Association!
The association is closely linked to the friendship that the CEO’s of the brands share. According to David Schulte, Oliver Peoples CEO, it was Ben who initially proposed the idea of the collaboration. The key inspiration behind the concept came when Byredo’s master perfumer Ben perceived the varied facets of the city of Los Angeles through different coloured lenses and translated the sights into various smells.
The Frame & Fragrance
The unisex, acetate sunglass is available in two frame color ways, Semi Matte Black and Beige Crystal, with three different photochromic lens colors, including Indigo, Champagne and Green. The fragrance and sunglass will be sold separately, as well as in a bespoke box set with a custom-made case and pouch. The fragrance bottle – which naturally matches the lenses and also is available in indigo, champagne and green – will correspond with the chosen lens color.
People will be able to buy the sunglasses and fragrance individually as well as a combo set available in exclusively designed boxes. The limited edition collection has been launched exclusively for the summer season.
