Italian fragrance house Moellhausen expands its global reach through innovation, craftsmanship and sustainable manufacturing

A Landmark Investment in Italy
A significant milestone in Moellhausen’s journey is its new manufacturing facility in Caponago, Italy. Developed over five years, the plant represents a major investment in the company’s production capabilities, bringing together automation, precision dosing and advanced logistics under one roof.
Speaking to ParfumPlus during Beautyworld Dubai, Anthony Moellhausen shared details of the new facility and its importance to the company’s future.
“It is one of the most modern plants, with almost 65% of solar capacity for self-energy production. It has the capacity of a geothermal cooling system and it is practically all roboticised,” he explained.
The facility is expected to almost quadruple production capacity, allowing Moellhausen to respond more efficiently to customer requirements. Its operations are designed to accommodate orders of different scales, from full container loads to samples weighing just one kilogram. The company aims to deliver orders in less than seven days, offering greater flexibility to clients across international markets.
Progress with Purpose
The Caponago facility reflects Moellhausen’s approach to manufacturing, where technological development goes hand in hand with environmental responsibility. Solar energy generation, geothermal cooling and automated processes contribute to more efficient operations while helping reduce the plant’s environmental impact.
The company also maintains a wider commitment to responsible business practices, supported by sustainability assessment platforms such as EcoVadis and Sedex, and its participation in the IFRA-IOFI Sustainability Charter. Quality and safety remain central to its operations, with established standards guiding its manufacturing processes.
Reading the Fragrance Market
At Beautyworld Dubai, Anthony Moellhausen also observed encouraging activity across the fragrance sector. Despite the challenges facing businesses, he noted a renewed interest in developing distinctive fragrances, exploring new markets and creating fresh emotional experiences through scent.
“The business, as I always say, is like water. It always finds a way through,” he remarked, reflecting on the industry’s ability to navigate difficult conditions.
For Moellhausen, this resilience is supported by long-term thinking, investment and close collaboration with clients. Its international presence, extensive technical resources and growing production capacity provide a strong foundation for future development.
The new Caponago plant marks an important chapter in the company’s history.
