Chanel Announces Marion Cotillard As The New Face Of No.5
Chanel has signed Marion Cotillard to be the brand ambassador for the first time. Cotillard has a long history with the fashion house, first walking the red carpet in Chanel in 2004, for Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s movie “A Very Long Engagement,” then in 2008 for Olivier Dahan’s film “La Vie en Rose.” She won a host of awards, including an Oscar and César, for her portrayal of Édith Piaf in “La vie en rose.”
Chanel stated, “Authentic, committed and generous, Marion Cotillard takes her unique perspective from film to film, creating an exceptional destiny as a free woman.”
“The perfect incarnation of French natural beauty, Marion Cotillard has an irresistible ‘je ne sais quoi’ that’s all her own,” the fashion house continued. “She is bringing her elegance to the image of the iconic No.5 fragrance.”
The iconic No.5 fragrance will be launched in the latter part of 2020. The company has also launched hair oil and perfumed pencils in their Chance line.

Coty Appoints Peter Harf as CEO to spearhead change!
In a definitive agreement, Coty and the Global investment firm KKR have entered into a transformation that will deleverage its balance sheet, streamline its operations and strengthen its leadership team.
The sale of a majority interest in the Professional and Retail Hair business to KKR simplifies Coty’s portfolio allowing Coty to focus on its core Prestige and Mass Beauty businesses.
Coty’s current Chairman Peter Harf will be assuming the additional role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to spearhead this new association. Harf commented: “I’ve known Coty for a long time and there is a lot of potential within this company. I’m delighted to return to an active leadership role. We are all energized by the task ahead – to lead Coty to the best it can be. Further, in KKR, we have a world-renowned investor that will work alongside us in transforming Coty.” Shares in Coty jumped 18% after the new appointment.
In his new role, Harf will be part of a new three-person Executive Committee which will include Coty’s Chief Financial Officer, Pierre-André Terisse, and Gordon von Bretten, who joined Coty recently as the company’s first-ever Chief Transformation Officer (“CTO”). This, to make sure that Coty takes the right steps to become a more profitable company and drive improvements across the business.

Beautyworld Middle East 2020 postponed to 23-25 November
Messe Frankfurt Middle East has announced new dates for Beautyworld Middle East 2020. The 25th edition will now take place from 23 – 25 November 2020 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The new show dates come after extensive feedback and consultation with the venue, exhibitors, visitors, trade partners and associations, as global governments continue to contain the spread of Covid-19.
Beautyworld Middle East 2020 was initially postponed to run in August, however the potential of the ongoing international travel restrictions, along with uncertainty around the virus’ trajectory meant the summer month was too soon for the show to take place. The vast majority of stakeholders supported the November dates.
At the inaugural Beautyworld Middle East awards night, there is a new addition this year-Awards across 10 categories recognizing the top performers, entrepreneurs and brands in fragrance, cosmetics and wellness industries across the region. These awards will unfold during a dazzling, evening gala dinner event on the opening night of the three-day Beautyworld Middle East show.

Robertet Reiterates Its Independence
Robertet, in a statement, has clarified that it did not solicit the acquisition of any holding by Firmenich or Givaudan.
The group claims that it does not intend to propose representation on the company’s board of directors for Firmenich or Givaudan, thus exerting their individual strategic flexibility.
This unique positioning and independent strategy allows Robertet to operate without any debt to date. The company is confident in its capacity to grow as an independent and unique leader in the raw materials and natural ingredients Industry.
“The independence of our company is non-negotiable”, said Philippe Maubert, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Robertet.
Robertet, leader in natural products, is a family mid-market company with a differentiated positioning, on a human scale, visionary and long-standing on the natural proposition. Directed for six generations by the Maubert family, 47.02% of Robertet is still controlled by the household and they have voting rights of 67.50%. Lately Firmenich, the privately-owned Perfume and Taste Company acquired approximately 17% stake in the capital in Robertet. Soon after, the Swiss group Givaudan too acquired a 4.68% minority stake in Robertet.
