From a pilot to a perfumer, Mohamed Hilal’s life has seen many highs. Going against everyone’s advise he launched Hind Al Oud in 2001 mainly to give himself the opportunity to explore his creativity and to nurture his passion of perfumery. Success and recognition followed and Hind Al Oud was awarded the ‘Best Traditional Niche Fragrances’ by the Economic Department of Dubai in 2004. Today Hind Al Oud products are sold to the affluence society to the members of royal family, dignitaries, ambassadors, consular, celebrities, VIPs, leading business community etc.

His top five recommendations:

Devotion – Hind Al Oud

Devotion – Hind Al Oud

Devotion is inspired by the Hind Al Oud ideal of creating scents that capture emotions. It elevates the idea of devotion; an intense pursuit of an idea, goal or higher purpose. Here is the essence of devotion captured in a bottle, with each delicate waft reminding the wearer of their quest. This precious oriental perfume opens up into a deep and complex bouquet where the freshness of blueberries gives way to the sweet notes of vanilla before exploring the base notes of agarwood. Devotion can be amorous or platonic. It is the higher idea of making a cause your own that matters

Shay Oud Parfum

Shy Oud

A combination of aromatic and woody influences that expresses merrymaking but with gravitas. The playfulness starts with the name, which deliberately reverses the traditional order of Arabic phrasing. Shay Oud opens to a top note of frankincense and transitions through sweet balsamic honey to delve into a striking agarwood base. Shay means wow in Arabic, and the scent is a daylong reminder to savour each wow moment that comes along, and to create them wherever possible.

Oud and Shay Dokhoon

Welcome to the tradition of dokhoon smouldering in an Arabian home reinvented. Oud and Shay Dokhoon channels the traditional joys of oud into a contemporary aspirational experience that fits urban entrepreneurs as much as it does the city’s thinkers, designers and free spirits. And for those who want the Oud and Shay Dokhoon experience to travel with them outside the home, we’ve included a concentrated body spray so that the ethereal luban notes, warm honey heart and precious agarwood base remind you of wow moments through your day.

Ahojas

Ahojas

Reality changes when perception does, and life takes new direction when the mind adapts – which is why Ahojas is distilled to offer a powerful challenge to the status quo. It encapsulates a feverish state of curiosity where possibilities open up. It’s the precise moment when the draughtsman crumples up his first draft, when the painter bins his first canvas, in the search of something better. Ahojas is a bottled tribute to the spirit of exploration, when the mind creates new reality. With the complexity of fig balanced by the humming autumn notes of honey, Ahojas unveils its new reality with a heart comprising the sweet intoxicating scent of white tobacco and agarwood. Here lies the recipe for sensational new moments crafted by a mind freed by scent.

Lerato

Lerato

Genuine love shouldn’t be perfect but must be true. Lerato, a scent named for the African word for love, is inspired by imperfect love that is nevertheless pure and driven. Nor is this love always amorous. It is love for a cause, it is inspiration, it is passion that inspires a colourful and fulfilled life. With its inspiration lying in the art of Sub-Saharan Africa, Lerato starts its impassioned appeal with notes of the dawn rose. This is followed by an exploration of the rich floral essence of Ylang-Ylang before the complex base note of sweet myrrh seals the cause of inspiration. Lerato is a paean of love – whatever that love might. It salutes your cause, reminds you of it through the day, and exhorts you to be true.
