A new Eau de Parfum whose powerfully engaging notes send the senses reeling, a heady ‘Flower Of Evil’ with a bewitching sillage.
A heady “Flower of Evil” with a bewitching sillage, this hypnotic beauty is draped in an irresistible poison. A Baudelarian beauty whose luscious mouth holds the temptation of forbidden fruit.
Her fragrance is an Orientalist fantasy, a giddy ambush.A powerfully different perfume that entices its prey. A deliciously sensual composition that bonds with pleasure.
Hypnotic Poison Eau de Parfum, the new display of love that stirs memories of immortal poems : “Sounds and perfumes turn in the evening air; Melancholy waltz and languid vertigo!”
— William Aggeler, The Flowers of Evil (Fresno, CA: Academy Library Guild, 1954)
Hypnotic Poison Eau de Parfum, dizzying the senses
The bewitching Poison clads itself in a sillage that dizzies the senses. A stunning variation, the strongest of bonds… For this impenitent seductress, François Demachy, the Dior Perfumer-Creator, chose to create a devilishly indulgent Eau de Parfum.
A composition that surprises with its warmth, leading its prey into a whirlwind of pleasure. His latest poison reveals new voluptuous facets, hooking you in with its honeyed charm. François Demachy sees the world of Hypnotic Poison as a display of sensuality and has avoided any caricature in rendering its charms. For this new Eau de Parfum, he preferred to summon up the potency of natural harmonies, the strength of deeply evocative floral Absolutes.
He did not seek to push the initial signature of Hypnotic Poison to the hilt, but to exalt its expressiveness, to create an intense sillage that does not overstate its sensual identity.
“I thought of Hypnotic Poison Eau de Parfum in terms of difference more than exaggeration. Its honeyed facet beckons the mouth and addiction. It is a ‘full’ perfume, full of curves.” François Demachy
A new indulgent Oriental facet
Hypnotic Poison Eau de Parfum is extremely natural, drawing its strength from powerful Absolutes.
The animal charm of Jasmine Sambac Absolute mixes with a welcoming Orange Blossom Absolute to envelop a suave and deeply evocative Tonka Bean.
The round liquorice note that is the signature seduction of Hypnotic Poison is expressed with even bolder flair. It creates a deliciously appetising flavour underscored with Vanilla, an instantly recognisable note. All in a sense of sheer indulgence…
The quality of the raw materials selected for their heady aromas gives this Eau de Parfum a sophisticated roundness, rich and sensual. All the notes are instant, hooking the senses and expressing themselves in unison. It is a facetted perfume that asserts itself with overt seduction, a manifesto of confident sensuality.
“Hypnotic Poison Eau de Parfum plays on Absolutes, on their natural aroma and depth.” François Demachy
Hypnotic Poison, the iconic bottle
Infused with mystery, the Hypnotic Poison bottle is an absolute icon, the mischievous incarnation of the forbidden fruit.
It is a tempting red apple, its glass shot through with fire like molten lava. A dark, sensual bottle that is instantly recognisable, throbbing beneath the fingers with warm transparencies that tell of the highest glasswork expertise.
For the very first variation of Hypnotic Poison, making this bottle was an epic adventure, requiring a special process to obtain this deep, dark red. Over five pigments (white, black, burgundy, violet and red) are combined to form a secret bath in which the sensual shapely bottles are dipped. Developed by the master glassmakers of Saint-Gobain, this top-secret process allows the glass to be perfectly sheathed in a thick red resin. A series of firings at different temperatures bring out the translucent shine of this extraordinary bottle.
To mark the birth of this new Eau de Parfum, the incandescent Hypnotic Poison bottle plays on new transparencies, deeper and more mysterious than ever. A dark tie at the neck is finished with a seal to complete the sophistication of a bottle that oozes bewitchment and the powers of passion.
