ParfumPlus: How do The Body Shop fragrances live up to the brand’s philosophy of Enrich Not Exploit™?
Jenny Whitehorn: The Body Shop’s commitment runs around three key pillars – to enrich our people, our products and enriching our planet. And the new fragrance line actually embraces all those three pillars hugely.
Firstly by using non-destructive technique of Headspace Technology, we have tried to protect the planet but also harnesses the amazing story and scents of the rare plants. Secondly, the luxurious packaging, the glass, cap and the outer cardboard are either made from recycled goods or organic pulps.
Also, the third pillar – the people; the sugarcane essence that has been used in this line comes from a community trade association from São Paulo state in Brazil that we share with which actually has a population of less than 500 people. So through this line, we are trying to embrace these three pillars greatly!
