As the official sensory partner of PANTONE® Color of the Year since 2001, dsm-firmenich brings its deep expertise in reimagining colour through fragrance. This long-standing collaboration fuses science with the art of colour and scent, resulting in fragrances that unite delight and care, while introducing a new dimension of serenity and wellbeing.
To reflect the Color of the Year 2026, dsm-firmenich presents the Cloud Dancer fragrance collection, inspired by rhythm, tempo and emotion. The collection features ten fragrances across multiple formats — including eau de parfum, eau de toilette, candle, body mist, face and body cream, room spray and liquid hand soap — translating this lofty shade of white into scent.
The Cloud Dancer collection captures the precise mood of the colour through dsm-firmenich’s proprietary emotiOn™, a breakthrough neuroscientific programme that unlocks the emotional power of fragrance, along with emotiCode™ Focus, a set of fragrance design rules aimed at enhancing mental performance. Through these innovations and their refined perfumery expertise, creators selected ingredients that express a shade that feels like a breath of fresh air. Cloud Dancer embodies serenity and calm — much like white florals that convey the same emotional tone — offering a soothing presence in today’s fast-paced world.
Paris-based dsm-firmenich perfumer Coralie Spicher created the hero fragrance, Cloud Dancer Eau de Parfum, choosing white patchouli for its airy, ethereal quality. “Cloud Dancer is such an inspirational name and colour with poetic facets. It is a colour in motion — not fast, but slow and delicate, carried by the wind and deeply connected to nature,” she shares. “I wanted something white to reveal patchouli in a softer light. It’s my interpretation of a white patchouli — something that quiets the noise yet awakens the imagination. I was inspired by the notion of contrasts, so I blended coconut with an overdose of Clearwood® Prisma for intensity.”
The Cloud Dancer fragrance collection is crafted using dsm-firmenich’s innovative ingredients, including Patchouli Heart SFE, Coconut NaturePrint® and Clearwood® Prisma. Advanced techniques such as SFE (Supercritical Fluid Extraction) — which preserves the natural profile of ingredients — and NaturePrint®, a proprietary fragrance technology using headspace capture to preserve biodiversity, ensure the collection is consciously designed. Clearwood® Prisma, a biotech ingredient, brings an intense woody-patchouli character enhanced with oakmoss and amber facets, adding depth and modernity to the compositions.
